Fee Veraghtert (°1998, Mol, Belgium) lives and works in Hasselt. Graduated in both painting and printmaking at pxl-mad school of arts. Fee collects images from the everyday and translates them to canvas or paper. The works arise from a love for the medium and the possibilities that come with it. She does not try to convey concepts or tell a story, but focuses on the process of creating an abstract image. The focus is on the visual aspect. Through color, shape, line and texture she plays with the way a small sketch can be translated to a larger canvas. The results are often strongly monolithic forms, where simplicity and composition prevail. A glimpse of the origins of the works can be found in the titles.
